Posted over 4 years ago by Emily Petersen

The PICU at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is currently seeking to add another acute care certified PNP to our growing PNP practice. You have the opportunity to join an established group of 9 PNP's practicing in this exciting unit. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners currently practicing in the PICU participate in all aspects of the Advanced Practice Nurse role including leadership, education, mentor, researcher and clinician. Our PNP team has over 25 years of experience in critical care. Responsibilities include 24/7 coverage of the PICU with in-house attending coverage and fellows, education, research and support of leadership activities.

Our new facility is in the heart of downtown Chicago on the Northwestern University campus. The PICU is a 40 bed combined medical-surgical (excluding cardiac surgery) PICU with over 1800 admissions per year. In this location, we are uniquely positioned to collaborate with the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and Northwestern Memorial Hospital to advance research and healthcare outcomes.

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago was the first pediatric hospital in the nation to earn Magnet status in 2001 and in 2010, the hospital received re-designation for the 3rd time. As part of the award winning care at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Pediatric Nurse Practitioners are offered an extensive orientation program to facilitate transitioning into a new role with access to more than 180 Advanced Practice Nurses representing more than 25 subspecialties.

Candidates must have the ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment exhibiting excellent communication and team skills, coordination of patient care, and good organizational skills. For additional information on this exciting opportunity, go to
