Advocacy Day on Capital Hill

Posted about 1 year ago in Legislative Update

NAPNAP members visited Capitol Hill to urge members of Congress to support legislation to increase vaccinations, improve children’s access to mental health care, strengthen the pediatric advanced practice registered nursing workforce and remove outdated restrictions on their practices. You can be an important part of NAPNAP’s Hill Day even if you can’t be in Washington, D.C. by sending messages urging your legislators to take action to support pediatric nursing and children’s health.

NAPNAP is focusing on these four issues in its meetings with members of Congress:

  • Protecting Critical Funding for National Immunization Programs in FY 2024 Appropriations
  • Improving Federal Support to Address the Shortage of Pediatric Mental Health Providers
  • Eliminating Federal Barriers to Patients’ Access to Advanced Nursing Care
  • Providing Essential Funding for Pediatric Advanced Practice Nurse Education

Using our Advocacy Center and pre-formatted message, please contact your members of Congress now to ask them to support pediatric nursing by ensuring critical funding for federal immunizations programs and pediatric advanced practice nurse education and by cosponsoring and passing the “Helping Kids Cope Act” and the “Improving Care and Access to Nurses (ICAN) Act.” In the blue box, simply fill in your info, click next, review and/or customize the proposed communication and click submit. It only takes a few minutes!
