DocAssist is Expecting!

Toya Clay, MD—Medical Director for Illinois DocAssist and Diane Misch, MD are leading the charge for increasing the capacity for Illinois primary care providers to support the perinatal mental health needs of pregnant and postpartum women.  Whether it is depression, anxiety, or another perinatal mental health issue, DocAssist can help!  Warmline consultation with psychiatrists about the perinatal mental health needs of your pregnant and newly parenting women are available Monday-Friday, 9a-5p at 1-866-986-2778 or at DocAssist@psych.uic.edu.  When necessary, assistance with finding perinatal mental health services and support for women outside of your primary care setting is provided. Among other tools you will also have access to a medication chart outlining the latest clinical recommendations for psychopharmacology with pregnant and lactating women.  Finally, CME-eligible educational trainings for primary care clinicians (family medicine, OB/GYNs, pediatricians, and nurses) are available.  All of this is free of charge due to the generous funding of the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services!  Please also continue to contact DocAssist for all of your child and adolescent behavioral health needs!
