NAPNAPs Conference Planning Committee is now accepting abstracts for NAPNAPs 33rd Annual Conference on Pediatric Health Care to be held March 28-31, 2012, at the San Antonio Convention Center, San Antonio, TX. Please share your expertise with NAPNAP and participate in this competitive application process. Topics do not need pre-approval prior to submission, but individuals with specific questions may submit a topic query to lnelsen@napnap.org if desired.

Detailed instructions, guidelines, and application links for all types of presentations are available at: http://www.napnap.org/Events/AnnualConference/CallForAbstracts.aspx

Concurrent Educational Sessions

NAPNAPs Conference Planning Committee encourages applications for Concurrent Educational Sessions that are intended to provide attendees with updates on clinical topics, practice issues and reflect the conference theme. Specifically, the committee is looking for topics that are different than previous years and reflect current science or trends in practice. Pharmacology and a variety of primary, acute care, and specialty care topics are also needed. It is important that topics have strong clinical application, originality, and are evidence-based. Please note that speaking experience at the regional, state, or national level is required to submit an application for a concurrent session. The deadline for submission of concurrent sessions is June 1, 2011.

NAPNAP will accept abstracts for poster presentation beginning April 1, 2011. Descriptions of the types of poster categories to be featured at the 2012 Annual Conference is available on NAPNAP’s Call for Abstracts website. (Note: Abstracts submitted in the Research Poster category may be selected for a podium or poster presentation.)

Intensive Workshops

Intensive Workshops (IWS) are those sessions that provide skills training or may offer an in-depth review on a condition or topic. Many IWS sessions will be held as pre-conference sessions on March 27, 2012. IWS sessions require special arrangements to allow for extensive interaction between the audience and the presenter, increased time for the session, special equipment requirements, or hands-on opportunities for the participant. Examples of IWS sessions include: Otitis Workshop, Opthalmoscopy Workshop, Suturing, Radiology Review and all day Pharmacology Updates.

General Session/Keynote Speakers

The committee is always open to suggestions for dynamic general session speakers to present at the Opening Session, General Session Lunch, and Closing Session. If you have a suggested speaker, please encourage the potential speaker to submit or submit the speaker's information on their behalf. For a link to the General Session Speaker Application, please visit the Call for Abstracts Information web site. The committee will consider all suggestions.

If you are interested in submitting any type of proposal or abstract, please visit NAPNAP’s Call for Abstracts Information Website (http://www.napnap.org/Events/AnnualConference/CallForAbstracts.aspx) for additional information and a link to the online application.

We are open to your ideas and encourage you to submit!

Sincerely,
