Please see the following legislative updates below:

HB 4975: Expungement from pubic record disciplinary action that meets specific qualifications/timelines/and personal request, is on 2nd reading in the Senate.

HB 5040: Child Safe Chemicals Act: is on 3rd reading in the Senate; means it is poised to pass and be sent to the Governor for his signature.

HB 5183: EMS Critical Care Transit proposal: is on 2nd reading in the Senate. It seems that with every step toward passing this bill there is another issue that crops up: this time it is the Senate Republican’s request that there be a ‘no funds sweep’ amendment on the bill, which will essentially ‘kill it’ if that is done.

HB 5744: The Good Samaritan Free Clinic proposal to allow licensed professionals to volunteer in free clinics without an Illinois license is on 2nd reading in the Senate. There are no indications that this bill will not pass, as it was amended to mandate the clinic collect and retain licensure information from the individuals home state.

HB 5836: Self administration and use of asthma inhalers in schools: is on 3rd reading in the Senate and will likely pass out and go to the Governor for his signature.

HB 6065: Students with Diabetes Act: the bill was assigned to Executive Committee as a strategy to pass it onto the Senate floor for full debate. Unfortunately, it did pass unanimously. There are those Senators who do have grave concerns for this bill, but many who support it wholeheartedly. Grassroots action is essential in an effort to defeat this proposal, which allows Insulin administration by unlicensed school employees.

HB 6194: Limits that licensure lists from DPR can use only the name, address, and profession when paying for the lists. It is on 3rd reading in the Senate and will likely pass.
